Atoms and their electrons
Atoms usually have the same number of
protons as they have electrons but this is not always the case and the
number of electrons can vary. Atoms give, take or share electrons. Electrons
can move from one atom to another but protons and neutrons never move
from the nucleus.
Red spheres = protons
White spheres = neutrons.
