Dilution
When a solution has solvent, in most cases it is water, added to it, it said to be diluted.
By adding water we simply increase the volume in which the solute particles are floating in. We decrease the concentration of the solution. We say we dilute (make less concentrated) the solution.

Concentration is the amount of substance, solute, in a given volume of solvent.
Which container on the right contains the most concentrated solution. In other words has the most particles of solute (red dots)
per volume of solvent?

Which containers have the same concentration? Hint- divide the number of particles by the volume .

Home Concentration 8M Concentration 4M but the number of mole in total is still the same.
